Boxed in – A poem

One of the most valuable lessons – in fact the most valuable – that my poetry lecturer taught me was that poetry could take any form, or any shape. However you wanted to express yourself, go with that. Poetry is not a fixed state. When I put this together a couple of years ago, it came to me like this, in this form, and it became one of my favourites.
